Moonlit Pages  ·  Lifestyle Lines  ·  Ritual Gathering

Some stories are not
meant to be read alone.

Four times a year, under the most charged full moons, women gather — virtually — with a warm drink, a carefully chosen book, and the willingness to be moved by both the story and each other. This is not a book club. It is a ritual.

What this is

A gathering dressed
as a book club.
A ritual in disguise.

On the most energetically charged full moons of the year, a group of women comes together in a virtual space with warm drinks, a shared book, and no performance required. You arrive as you are — having read every page, or none, or something in between. The book is the catalyst, not the point.

The conversations move quickly past the text. We talk about the characters — and then we talk about our mothers. About the parts of ourselves we rarely dare to name in ordinary company. About what we found in those pages that felt, uncomfortably and exactly, like recognition.

Sometimes we laugh until it hurts. Sometimes someone cries and everyone understands why. Sometimes we sit in silence together, all of us, under the same moon — which is doing what the moon does, whether we notice or not.

Moonlit Pages is not a class. There are no right answers, no reading comprehension tests, no commentary required if you'd rather listen. It is a space where stories become the permission to finally say the thing you have been carrying quietly.

The annual cycle

Four gatherings. Four full moons. One year of returning to yourself.

First Gathering

The year's first moon — a gathering around emergence, beginning, and what we are calling in. Books chosen for their capacity to open something.

Second Gathering

The peak of the cycle — the most charged moon. Books that speak to power, rage, and what women have been told to be silent about.

Third Gathering

The turning season — books around transition, letting go, the wisdom of ending. Mythology and lineage feature here.

Fourth Gathering

The darkest moon — the most intimate gathering. Books around shadow, the underground, what grows in the dark. A ritual close to the year.

Why stories

Stories do something
arguments cannot.

A well-chosen book reaches parts of a woman's psyche that direct instruction cannot access. It gives her permission to feel something she might not let herself feel in ordinary life — because it is the character feeling it, not her. And then, suddenly, it is her.

The books chosen for Moonlit Pages are not chosen for comfort. They are chosen for their capacity to crack something open — to let light into places that have been sealed. Books by women who wrote from the edges. Who refused to make themselves smaller for the sake of being palatable. Who told the truth at personal cost.

"Stories are medicine. But so is being witnessed. So is hearing someone say: me too."

Why together

We were never meant
to carry this alone.

There is something that happens when a group of women reads the same words and then gathers to speak about what they mean — not academically, but personally. What did this stir in your body? What did this remind you of that you had stopped allowing yourself to remember?

The collective creates something that solitary reading cannot: the experience of not being the only one. Of realising that what you thought was your private wound, your private rage, your private longing — is shared. Has always been shared. And that the sharing itself is a form of healing that no amount of individual work can replicate.

Moonlit Pages is Laila Regalado's answer to the epidemic of women in isolation — doing their growing alone, in the dark, wondering if anyone else understands.

The selection

Books chosen
for what they dare.

Each gathering centres one book. You do not need to have read every page. You only need to come with curiosity.
  • Written by women — always
  • Prioritising non-Western, historically marginalised, and underheard voices
  • Chosen for their relationship to power, mythology, rage, grief, or feminine liberation
  • Accessible enough that a partial read is still a meaningful read
  • Selected to make the conversation more important than the text

The books are announced before each gathering, so you have time to read — or to begin, at least. But Laila has run enough of these gatherings to know that the best conversation sometimes comes from the woman who only read the first three chapters and couldn't stop thinking about chapter two.

The book is a door. Moonlit Pages is what you find when you walk through it.

Past themes have included: the psychology of feminine rage in mythology, intergenerational silence in non-Western literature, the body as site of resistance, women who wrote from exile — geographic, emotional, cultural.

The canon has been narrow for long enough. Moonlit Pages treats that narrowness as a problem to actively correct, one gathering at a time.

What you leave with

Not a conclusion.
A spark.

The feeling of not being alone

Not as a concept. As an experience, felt in real time — hearing another woman say the exact thing you thought only you carried. That is not small. That is the whole thing.

A spark for what is next

Every gathering leaves women with something that calls them forward — a question, a recognition, an anger that has finally found its name, a permission they didn't know they needed until someone else gave it.

A wider reading world

Books that you would not have found on your own. Authors from traditions and geographies outside the English-language mainstream. Voices that expand what you thought was sayable.

Four rituals a year

A recurring appointment with yourself and with community — one that asks you to slow down, to read, to gather, to speak. Four pauses in a year of ordinary speed. They accumulate into something.

Collective strength

The particular felt sense of what happens when women think and breathe and imagine together in one space — even a virtual one. It is not the same as individual growth. It amplifies it.

A community of returners

Women who come to one Moonlit Pages gathering tend to come to all of them. The circle of women who know each other — not well, but truly — builds across the year's four moons.

€140 Full year  ·  All four gatherings included

Both the 2026 and 2027 cycles of Moonlit Pages filled without advertising — through women who had attended and brought someone they loved, and through women who had been watching from a distance until the moment felt right.

The 2028 cycle will be the same size and held to the same standard. Small enough that every voice in the room matters. Large enough that the energy of the collective does its work.

Women on the waitlist will receive updates on book selections, themes, and opening dates before the public announcement. They will also have access to the broader Lifestyle Lines community and to Laila's other programmes in the interim.

Two years is a long time. It is also four full moons a year, eight full moons until your first gathering. Notice how much you will have lived in those moons.

"The women who gather here are not looking for answers. They are looking for each other."
