Moonlit Pages: A Ritual Book Club for Women
Gather under the most powerful full moons of the year to explore mythology, power, and the sacred rage that fuels transformation.
The Gifts of Sitting in Circle
This is a ritual.
Four times a year, on the most charged full moons, we come together — virtually — with a warm drink in hand (cacao, tea, coffee, your choice) and a carefully chosen book written by a woman’s hand, voice, and truth.
- Communion Over Isolation: Be reminded that you are not the only one carrying questions, grief, or rage — we are meant to gather.
- Inspiration to Act: Leave each gathering with a spark — a thought, a feeling, a question — that calls you into your next step.
- Collective Strength: Feel the power of a group breathing, thinking, and imagining together — it makes personal transformation contagious.
Moonlit Pages was born out of an urge — not just to read, but to gather.
The truth is, life doesn’t always leave space for finishing a book. This circle was never meant to be a test of who kept up with the reading list. The books are our starting point, our provocation, our shared compass. They give us stories that open doors — but the real work happens when we step through those doors together.
In these gatherings, we sit with each other, and with the themes that rise from the text: power, anger, transformation, longing, grief. Sometimes we talk about a character. Sometimes we talk about our mothers. Sometimes we talk about the parts of ourselves we rarely dare to name.
This is a space for communion, not performance.
You do not need to have read every page. You only need to come with curiosity and the willingness to listen and share.
Because stories are medicine, yes — but so is being witnessed. So is hearing someone say, “me too.” So is laughing, crying, or sitting in silence together under the same full moon.
What We’ll Read:
We’ll read one book by a woman author who explores power, mythology, or anger — prioritizing diverse, non-Western voices. Examples of what might be chosen:
Woman at Point Zero – Nawal El Saadawi (Egyptian)
Who Fears Death – Nnedi Okorafor (Nigerian-American)
The Woman Warrior – Maxine Hong Kingston (Chinese-American)
Her Body and Other Parties – Carmen Maria Machado (Latin)
The Bone People – Keri Hulme (Māori)
Meet your Guide
I’m Laila Regalado, and I created Moonlit Pages to bring women back to each other.
These gatherings are an antidote to isolation — a chance to slow down, listen deeply, and be heard. The books are catalysts for insight, but you don’t need to finish them to belong.
You simply need to show up, sit with us, and let yourself be moved by the conversation. Together we weave a space where wisdom, humor, and shared humanity rise to the surface.
